International Bridges to Justice (IBJ) is seeking applications for the 2010 JusticeMakers Fellowship. JusticeMakers Fellows introduce novel methods of collaborating with police, legal aid communities, and governments to ensure competent legal counsel for ordinary people. Winning applicants earn $5,000, training in Singapore, and a global network of support to help them implement their proposal.
WHAT’S AT STAKE
2010 JusticeMakers Fellows will gain access to funding, resources, and a global network of support to help them realize their personal vision for legal aid and due process within their community.
* Each Fellow will receive USD5,000 to implement a justice project of his/her own design.
* To increase the likelihood of the projects’ success, Fellows will be brought to Singapore in June for a week-long training course and planning session with International Bridges to Justice staff.
* Fellows also have the option to team with a documentary photographer and/or print journalist to bring more exposure and potential support to their work.
Fellowship applicants must have an idea they’d like to implement and an understanding of the local Indonesian criminal justice environment.
Applicants must first register at http://www.justicemakers.net. There, they will be able to create a profile, access the preliminary Fellowship application, and get the support they need to articulate their idea in print.
The Application Deadline is March 24, 2010. IBJ must receive Preliminary Applications by 23:59 (11:59 PM) GMT +1 on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 for them to be considered.
